In the winter of the southern Hebei Plain, the cold wind carries the heat wave of development, sweeping through the new energy industrial park in Xinhe County. Inside the workshop of Hebei Shenglongjiu New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., three production lines are operating at full capacity 24 hours a day. The crisp sound of steel bar binding, the heavy roar of concrete pouring, and the precise operation of mechanical lifting constitute a stirring industrial symphony. Workers, dressed in anti-static workwear, perform their respective duties in the production area with a constant temperature of 38°C: experienced welders keep a close eye on the welding sparks to ensure the leak-tightness of each weld seam; quality inspectors hold ultrasonic detectors to conduct millimeter-level inspections of the internal structure of prefabricated pipe segments; logistics dispatchers face the electronic sand table, planning transportation routes to Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, and other places. "This year, the order for 200 sets of pipe segments has been scheduled until the end of the year. Each set weighs 180 tons and requires 12 cross-departmental teams to work together for 3 days to complete." In the words of the company's head, Mai Chunle, there is not only a sense of urgency to rush the work, but also a firm belief in the industry's prospects - this county, which was once dominated by traditional agriculture, now occupies a key position in the new energy industry layout of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, thanks to its wind power equipment manufacturing.

The rise of the industry cannot be separated from the core support of technological innovation. In the corporate R&D center, a team led by a doctor from a university is tackling three major goals: "low-carbonization, high strength, and long lifespan". Compared to traditional steel wind turbine towers, the hybrid tower prefabricated segments developed by Xinhe are made of C80 high-strength concrete and basalt fiber, mixed with mineral admixtures ground from industrial waste residue. This not only improves the wind load resistance of the tower body by 30% and extends its service life to 50 years, but also achieves a breakthrough in reducing carbon emissions per ton of product by 12%. "We optimized the segment curvature design through numerical simulation technology, compressing the installation time of a single set from 7 days to 4 days. At the same time, we applied for 9 patents, among which 'fiber-reinforced concrete crack resistance technology' fills the gap in the regional industry," said R&D supervisor Mr. Chen, pointing to the test samples in the laboratory. Technological iteration has given the product a differentiated advantage in the market. Now, it not only covers multiple provinces in China but has also successfully entered the wind power market in Southeast Asia, becoming a benchmark for county-level industries to "go global".

The establishment of the wind power industry has brought tangible benefits to the people's livelihood in Xinhe. According to the employee roster of Shenglongjiu Company, over 60% of the 230 employees are from local towns and villages, including young entrepreneurs returning home and households that have been lifted out of poverty. "I used to work away from home and couldn't go back several times a year. Now, I work as a skilled worker in the factory, earning a monthly salary of over 8,000 yuan, and I can also take care of my elderly parents and children," said Xiao Li, a welder from Baishenshou Township, echoing the sentiments of many local employees. Industrial agglomeration has not only driven direct employment but also activated the upstream and downstream supporting ecosystem: transportation teams in surrounding towns and villages have taken on the business of transporting wind turbine segments, local building materials enterprises have transformed to produce specialized auxiliary materials for wind turbines, and even the catering and accommodation industries in the county have flourished due to the influx of industrial workers. According to statistics, the new energy industry in Xinhe County has directly driven the employment of over 1,200 people and indirectly created nearly 3,000 jobs in related industries, turning the vision of "employment at home" into a reality and injecting sustained momentum into rural revitalization.

The essence of green development becomes increasingly evident in industrial upgrading. The value of Xinhe's wind power industry goes far beyond economic growth; it lies more in providing a practical sample for achieving the "dual carbon" goals at the county level. The production of each set of prefabricated tubular segments for wind turbines with hybrid towers can achieve resource utilization of 3 tons of industrial waste residue, reducing carbon emissions equivalent to those from 160 trees in a year. Moreover, the wind power projects supported by these tubular segments can generate approximately 6.25 million kWh of electricity per year per turbine, replacing the consumption of 1,900 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 4,800 tons. Nowadays, within Xinhe County, a 2,000-mu wind farm coexists with wheat fields and woodlands, with 36 turbines rotating in the wind, which not only does not affect agricultural production but also continuously generates clean electricity. "In the past, we used to burn coal for heating in the village during winter, which was dirty and unsafe. Now we use wind power, which saves electricity costs and makes the air fresh," said Aunt Wang, a villager from Xiliu Village. Her feelings vividly reflect the improvement of Xinhe's ecological environment - the benign interaction between industrial development and ecological protection has truly enabled this small city to achieve "having both golden mountains and silver mountains, as well as green waters and clear mountains.".Editor/Bian Wenjun
