On January 16th, CORNEX New Energy signed a strategic cooperation agreement with WeaCan and Kemet in Egypt. Dai Deming, Chairman of CORNEX New Energy, and Ahmed Salaheddin Abdelwahab Elabd, Chairman of Kemet Board, signed the contract on behalf of the government. Moustafa Kamal Esmat Mahmoud, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy of the Egyptian Ministry of Electricity, and other government representatives and senior executives of related enterprises witnessed the signing.
According to the agreement, WeaCan and Kemet will serve as the core driving forces for the implementation of the project, relying on their deep industry resources and mature project operation experience in Egypt. They will be fully responsible for application scenario docking, government approval coordination, power grid access support, and localized operation services, providing solid support for the large-scale deployment of Chu Energy's energy storage products. As the core supplier of technology and products, CORNEX will supply a total of 6GWh of high-quality energy storage products in stages to ensure the safe and stable operation of the products in the Egyptian power system, and provide full cycle technical support services.
Egypt is located on the eastern flank of the Sahara Desert, with abundant solar and wind energy throughout the year, providing unique natural conditions for the development of "photovoltaic, wind power+energy storage". In recent years, Egypt has actively promoted the transformation of its energy structure, explicitly proposing to increase the proportion of renewable energy generation to 42% by 2030. Currently, multiple hundred megawatt level energy storage demonstration projects have been built, and more than 10 GWh of grid side energy storage capacity is planned to be added. The market demand is rapidly released, and the energy storage industry will enter a period of rapid development.
The procurement cooperation of 6GWh energy storage products is not only an important breakthrough of CORNEX in the North African market, but also a specific practice of green energy cooperation between China and Egypt under the framework of the "the Belt and Road". After the completion of the project, it will effectively enhance the local power grid's peak shaving and frequency regulation capabilities, promote the large-scale integration and consumption of clean energy such as photovoltaics, and help Egypt build a more flexible, reliable, and low-carbon new power system.
At present, CORNEX has established four regional service centers with China, Europe, North America, and Australia as the core globally, forming a localized service support system that radiates globally, achieving full lifecycle service coverage from product delivery to technical consulting, installation and commissioning, and operation and maintenance support. With its independently developed core technology, high security system design, and precise response to different market demands, ChuNeng has achieved batch delivery and benchmark project implementation in over 60 countries and regions, continuously improving its brand influence and deepening customer recognition.
In the future, CORNEX will continue to uphold the concept of open and win-win cooperation, deepen the synergy and linkage with international strategic partners in technology, channels, and ecological resources, and accelerate the expansion of global business territory through complementary advantages and localized integration.Editor/Bian Wenjun
