On March 8, 2026, with the first excavation of soil in the Xipo Photovoltaic Industrial Park in Jinchuan District, the Guozong Zhongsheng 200MW/800MWh grid side independent energy storage project with a total investment of 780 million yuan officially broke ground.

This is not only the first large-scale independent energy storage power station under construction in Jinchang City, but also a key chess piece on the new energy map of the Hexi Corridor. As a super regulator and giant power bank for building a new type of power system, the launch of this project marks a milestone step for Jinchang City in breaking through the bottleneck of new energy consumption and building a new energy base with a capacity of tens of millions of kilowatts. It injects strong golden momentum into the green and low-carbon transformation of energy in Gansu and even the northwest region.

Modular building block construction

The project is located in Xipo Photovoltaic Industrial Park, Jinchuan District, with a planned construction scale of 200MW/800MWh. It adopts mature and safe lithium iron phosphate electrochemical energy storage technology. In terms of construction layout, the project adopts modular design and will construct 40 sets of 5MW/20MWh energy storage units, equipped with 160 battery compartments and 40 PCS boost integrated compartments; At the same time, a new 330kV substation will be built, along with 8 sets of 35kV collection lines with a total length of approximately 1.72 kilometers. Supporting facilities such as a comprehensive office building, fire-fighting equipment, and roads will also be constructed to create an intelligent and standardized green energy hub.

This is the second energy storage power station we provide system integration equipment for in Jinchang City. The current system integration equipment is like a 'super stabilizer' and a 'giant power bank', which can accurately stabilize the fluctuations of wind and solar power generation and ensure stable power output. "He introduced that after the project is completed, it is expected to promote the consumption of about 210 million kilowatt hours of new energy electricity per year, which is equivalent to saving 64000 tons of standard coal and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 165000 tons. This emission reduction is equivalent to planting 9 million trees every year, which will contribute significantly to the improvement of the ecological environment in Jinchang

As the first large-scale independent energy storage power station under construction in Jinchang City, this project has been entrusted with the responsibility of setting a regional energy storage demonstration benchmark. After being put into operation, it will significantly enhance the regulation and support capabilities of the Jinchang power grid. Through flexible charging and discharging strategies and intelligent scheduling, it will solve the pain points of wind and solar power abandonment in new energy generation and ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid. This not only provides a solid energy support for the construction of a modern industrial system in Jinchang City, but also injects strong green momentum into the high-quality development of the local economy and society.
