On January 23, 2026, Tianhe Energy Storage and Irish renewable energy developer Aer Sol é ir officially signed a cooperation agreement to jointly build a large-scale battery storage power station with a capacity of 250MW/1000MWh in Rondissone, Turin, Italy. The Rondissone energy storage project signed this time is one of the largest battery energy storage projects in Italy and even Europe, which is a milestone for Tianhe Energy Storage's strategic layout in Italy and even the entire European market. The project will adopt the new generation Elementa King Kong 2 Pro liquid cooled battery energy storage system from Tianhe Energy Storage, and integrate advanced converter systems, medium voltage prefabricated cabins, and power station controllers to comprehensively ensure the excellent performance of the system and strong grid support capabilities. The successful signing of this project further consolidates Tianhe Energy Storage's market position as a trusted partner in the large-scale energy storage field in Europe.

Adapting to the energy transition needs of Italy

The advancement of this project is closely linked to Italy's urgent energy transition needs. Industry data shows that Italy's grid electricity demand has reached 328 TWh by 2025 and is steadily growing at an average annual rate of 3.3%. It is expected to increase to 393 TWh by 2030.
