On January 22, 2026, the Guizhou Provincial Highway Bureau announced the winning bid for the survey and design of the expansion project of the Chishui Renhuai section of the G4215 Chengdu Zunyi Expressway. The total investment of this project is about 21.4 billion yuan, with a total length of 136 kilometers and designed speeds of 100 kilometers per hour and 80 kilometers per hour.
This marks the inclusion of this key project in the mid-term adjustment project library of China's Ministry of Transport's "14th Five Year Plan" for highway development. The preliminary work has entered the substantive promotion stage, pressing the start button for the comprehensive upgrade of the Sichuan Guizhou transportation artery.

Expansion of the Qianbei Transportation Arteries
The expansion project of the Chishui Renhuai Expressway is located in Zunyi City, Guizhou Province, passing through Chishui City, Xishui County, and Renhuai City.
The starting point of the project is connected to the Sichuan Guizhou border section of the Rongzun Expressway, and the endpoint ends at the Canglong Hub in Renhuai City, connecting with the Renhuai Zunyi Expressway.
The entire line adopts a renovation and expansion mode, and innovatively adopts a "segmented differentiated combination scheme" based on the terrain conditions and existing problems of different sections.
This includes various methods such as widening the original road, adding half width, and building new double tracks, strictly following the principle of "old standards for old roads, new standards for new roads", aiming to fundamentally solve the traffic bottlenecks and safety hazards of the original road sections.
After the completion of the project, it will greatly alleviate the traffic pressure on existing roads, improve driving safety and efficiency, and become a key transportation hub connecting the northern Guizhou region and the Chengdu Chongqing economic circle.

Who is the winner of the five major sections
This bidding is divided into five survey and design sections, RCSJ-1 to RCSJ-5, with a service period of 1097 days each.
Due to its significant engineering value, it has attracted many top transportation design institutes in China to participate in the competition. After evaluation by the bid evaluation committee, the candidates for each section have been settled.
The competition for the RCSJ-1 section (from Chishui to Tucheng) is fierce, and Guizhou Provincial Transportation Planning Survey and Design Institute Co., Ltd. has become the first candidate for winning the bid with a price of 88.54341 million yuan.
The RCSJ-2 section was awarded the top spot by China Communications Second Highway Survey and Design Institute Co., Ltd. with a quotation of 55.786955 million yuan.
The RCSJ-3 section has once again seen the emergence of local strong players. Guizhou Provincial Transportation Planning, Survey and Design Institute Co., Ltd., with its comprehensive Class A qualification and rich design experience in southwestern mountainous areas, won the first place with a quotation of 83.17021 million yuan.
The first winning bidder for the RCSJ-4 section is China Merchants Chongqing Transportation Research and Design Institute Co., Ltd., with a bid price of 16.863764 million yuan.
The RCSJ-5 section was selected as the first candidate by Guangdong Provincial Transportation Planning and Design Institute Group Co., Ltd. with a quotation of 7.5935 million yuan.
At present, all candidates for winning the bid are being publicly announced from January 22 to January 26, 2026.

One road drives the development of a region
The expansion of the Chishui Renhuai Expressway has significance far beyond the upgrade of a highway itself.
It directly passes through the core production area of Maotai flavor Baijiu in China, and will provide strong logistics support for the development of the sauce and liquor industry in Renhuai, Xishui and other places, reduce transportation costs, and improve the efficiency of the industrial chain.
At the same time, the project connects important cultural and tourism resources such as Chishui Danxia, Tucheng Ancient Town, and Sidu Chishui Memorial Hall, creating a safe and fast high standard tourism channel that will effectively promote the deep integration and development of the cultural and tourism industry in northern Guizhou and assist in rural revitalization.
From a broader perspective, this project is a key step in improving the highway network in the southwest region, significantly enhancing connectivity between southern Sichuan and northern Guizhou.
It will strengthen the connection between Guizhou and the Chengdu Chongqing economic circle, promote the cross regional flow of talents, funds, industries and other factors, and inject new impetus into the high-quality coordinated development of Sichuan and Guizhou.
