Arab officials visited a Chinese auto factory in a carefully planned trip that showcased industrial strength and fostered business cooperation. Their tour of the Mengshi plant—from the assembly line to the dedicated off-road track—aimed at translating growing regional demand into a lasting sales and service network in the Gulf region.

This delegation's visit highlights a crucial phase for Mengshi, Dongfeng Motor Group's luxury electric off-road brand. In recent months, Mengshi has exported over 600 vehicles to the Middle East. Now, Mengshi's strategy is shifting from export volume to market expansion: in January, Mengshi opened a flagship showroom in Doha and plans to rapidly open similar stores in the UAE, Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam.

This accelerated retail expansion leverages Dongfeng Motor Group's established import and export infrastructure, aiming to cover core markets including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait. This move demonstrates that Chinese automakers are transforming from mere exporters into localized competitors, betting on localized service networks and direct customer interaction to establish a foothold in the growing automotive market of this oil-rich region.Editor/Cao Tianyi
