Yili Muhemaiti, a representative inheritor of Muqam at the city level in Turpan, Xinjiang, was influenced by his father since childhood and began studying Muqam in 1986. This passion supported him to overcome numerous difficulties and step onto the national stage, and also witnessed the blood connection between Xinjiang and Central Plains music through exchanges with Xi'an drum music. Since 2010, he has devoted himself to heritage teaching, cultivating multiple groups of disciples, and has also compiled and completed all ten sets of Muqam lyrics. Nowadays, he uses Muqam as a bridge to allow tourists from all over the world to appreciate the charm of Turpan and tell the story of Xinjiang to the world.Editor/Yang Meiling
