The first 180000 cubic meter LNG transport ship independently designed and built by China has been successfully completed in Nantong, Jiangsu, and has reached the delivery standards, which means that China has added new momentum in the field of high value-added shipbuilding.
This 180000 cubic meter LNG transport ship was built by China Merchants Ship Haimen Base. The total length of the ship is 298.8 meters and the width is 48 meters. It is equipped with a dual fuel low-speed propulsion system and has outstanding advantages such as low evaporation rate and high environmental protection. It marks a key breakthrough for Chinese shipbuilding companies in the field of large-scale clean energy ship construction. This ship is also the largest liquefied natural gas transport ship currently built in China.

Liquefied natural gas transport ships are specialized vessels used for transporting low-temperature liquefied natural gas at -163 ℃. Due to their extremely difficult design and construction technology, they are known as the "pearl on the crown of the shipbuilding industry", and only a few shipyards in the world have mastered their core construction technology. With the ship successfully meeting the delivery conditions, China will have five shipyards with the qualification to deliver LNG transport ships, and the overall construction level will enter the world's top tier.Editor/Gong Ziwei
