On February 9th local time, Vietnam Power Group, PowerChina, and Vietnam Machinery Installation Group jointly signed the EPC general contract for the Guangze Phase II liquefied natural gas combined cycle power generation project in Vietnam. As a landmark project of the 8th edition of Vietnam's National Electricity Development Plan, this project is currently the largest liquefied natural gas power generation project in Vietnam and the largest liquefied natural gas power generation project signed by PowerChina in Southeast Asia. It marks a historic breakthrough for PowerChina in the Vietnamese gas power generation market from zero to one.
The project is located in Phuc Tri Province, Vietnam, using H-class gas turbine technology with an installed capacity of 1612.8 megawatts. After completion and operation, it is expected to transmit about 10 billion kilowatt hours of electricity to the national power grid annually, which is sufficient to meet the annual electricity demand of millions of households and effectively promote the transformation of Vietnam's energy structure from "coal-fired power" to "natural gas+new energy".

At the signing ceremony, Minister Counselor Wu Guoquan of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, Minister of Industry and Information Technology Le Mengxiong and Deputy Minister Ruan Huanglong, Deputy Minister of Finance Gao Yingjun, Chairman Deng Huang'an and General Manager Ruan Yingjun of Vietnam Power Group, Chairman Pei Dejian and General Manager Ruan Wenxiong of Vietnam Machinery Installation Group, and President and CEO of GE Vernova Gas Power Asia, Si Ruimai, witnessed together.
