On February 11, 2026, the inauguration ceremony of Malaysia's East Coast Railway high-speed trains and electric locomotives was held in Kuantan, Pahang. Ambassador Ouyang Yujing attended and delivered a speech. Minister of Transport Lu Zhaofu, Minister of Communications Fami, and Chief Secretary of the government Azri attended.

Ambassador Ouyang said that the Malaysia East Railway Project is the flagship project of the high-quality joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" between China and Malaysia, and the progress has been 91.7%. The launch ceremony marks an important step for the project to move from high-quality construction to high-level operation. China is willing to work with Malaysia to build the Ma Dong Railway into a demonstration project that continues the traditional friendship between China and Malaysia and shares the fruits of development.

Lu Zhaofu stated that the Ma Dong Railway is a strategic cooperation project between the two countries, and he hopes that the train will bring a better riding experience to the Ma people and drive regional economic development.

Fami stated that Xima East Railway is helping Malaysia build an inclusive and sustainable digital ecosystem. Subsequently, the guests jointly took a test ride on the Ma Dong Railway high-speed train, experienced the facilities inside the train, and urged the builders of both countries to work hard to ensure the timely completion and opening of the railway.Editor/Yang Meiling
