Kazakhstan's Minister of Transport Nurlan Sholambaev disclosed the latest progress of highway infrastructure at the Astana government meeting. The country is based on a national level road network and supported by local roads, accelerating the achievement of road network standards and the construction of international corridors, providing hardware support for cross-border logistics and regional economic linkage.
The total length of public roads in Kazakhstan is 95000 kilometers, including 25000 kilometers of national roads, with 94% meeting the standard; 70000 kilometers of local roads, 91% of which meet the standards. In the next three years, the scale of local road expansion and repair will increase fivefold, and 32000 kilometers of local roads will reach 95% standard. At present, the revision of relevant regulations, updates to standards, and implementation are being synchronously promoted.

Kazakhstan has established seven international highway corridors to ensure regional connectivity. Four key projects, including the Karbato Maika census cover, have been completed with a total length of 2000 kilometers. Due to the increase in traffic volume, some corridors are operating at full capacity, and modernization of road sections has been included in the plan. The government is promoting standard updates and departmental collaboration, and local institutions have started implementing them. The separation and management of national and local roads, as well as the completion of key cross-border channels, have formed a pattern of "smooth trunk lines and regional coverage". The renovation of saturated road sections will continue to release transit and domestic logistics efficiency.Editor/Gao Xue
