On May 24, 2026, the establishment ceremony of the China ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Industry Innovation Center was held in Beijing. Chinese Vice Minister of Industry and Information Technology Ke Jixin and ASEAN Secretary General Gao Jinhong attended and delivered speeches. The center is a multilateral cooperation platform established within the framework of the China ASEAN Digital Ministers' Meeting mechanism to promote the China ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Action Plan (2026-2030).

The center will focus on four aspects of work: promoting technological research and innovation cooperation, strengthening the application of new generation artificial intelligence technologies such as large models in typical industrial scenarios, and accelerating the upgrading of industrial intelligence; Building a collaborative ecosystem for the artificial intelligence industry, establishing a dialogue mechanism between China and ASEAN countries on the artificial intelligence industry, and promoting bilateral and multilateral trade and investment; Deepen the practice of artificial intelligence governance, strengthen standardized collaboration and governance tool development, and form a more consensus based governance framework and rules; Assist in regional capacity building, jointly build intelligent infrastructure, share the dividends of artificial intelligence development, and promote the bridging of the global intelligence gap.
