Building a new benchmark for global clean energy
Recently, Power Construction Corporation of China successfully signed the EPC contract for the RTC2.1 gigawatt photovoltaic+7.75 gigawatt hour energy storage project in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, continuously deepening green technology innovation and international capacity cooperation, helping the UAE implement sustainable energy development goals, and contributing China Power Construction's solutions and hard core strength to the world's low-carbon energy transformation.
The UAE RTC solar storage project is located in the Mshayrif area of Abu Dhabi and is the world's first renewable energy benchmark project to achieve stable power supply around the clock. The project plans to construct a 5.2 gigawatt photovoltaic power station, equipped with a 19 gigawatt hour energy storage system, which ranks first in the world in terms of solar energy storage projects and has a milestone significance for the energy structure transformation of the United Arab Emirates.

The world's largest solar energy storage project
The entire project is divided into two major areas, north and south. The Power Construction Corporation of China is responsible for the construction of the north block, which includes a 2.1 gigawatt DC side photovoltaic installation and a 7.75 gigawatt hour energy storage system. It is responsible for the design, procurement, and construction of the entire chain of services for the civil engineering, photovoltaic, and energy storage areas of the booster station, with a total contract amount of approximately 13.962 billion yuan.
As a globally leading demonstration project for integrated light storage, the RTC project integrates cutting-edge technologies such as digital twins, virtual power plants, and intelligent prediction systems, enabling efficient and stable output of clean energy. It can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 5.7 million tons annually, injecting green energy into the diversification of the UAE economy and the upgrading of intelligent industries, and strongly supporting the implementation of the UAE's 2050 energy strategy.
