On March 20, 2026, the capacity expansion and renovation project of the Jiamusi to Tongjiang Railway on the China Europe Railway Express East Passage officially resumed construction of the Tongjiang Extra Large Bridge. The bridge is located in the reconstruction section from Tongjiang to Tongjiang North, with a total length of 10435.14 meters. It adopts a single track T-beam structure design and is the longest newly-built bridge in the East China Railway Express Port section. The Jiatong Railway Capacity Expansion and Reconstruction Project starts from Dongjiamusi Station in Jiamusi City and ends at Tongjiangbei Station. It is a mainline railway mainly for freight transportation and also for passenger transportation. After the project is completed and put into use, it will comprehensively enhance the capacity of the rear passage of Tongjiang Port, and the train passing capacity of the line will be increased by more than three times.Editor/Gao Xue
