Comprehensive resumption of major projects

During the 15th Five Year Plan period, State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) anchored its strategic goal of building a world-class clean energy enterprise by 2030, accelerated the implementation of a number of major nuclear power projects and clean and efficient coal-fired power projects, and provided solid support for high-quality social and economic development with high-quality electricity supply. At 3:56 am on March 5, 2026, the water pressure test of the reactor coolant system of Unit 3 of Shandong Haiyang Nuclear Power Phase II Project was successful. This marks a crucial step towards the goal of hot testing and loading for Haiyang Nuclear Power Unit 3.

In 2026, the Shandong Haiyang Nuclear Power Phase II Project will enter a peak period for the commissioning of Unit 3, installation of Unit 4, and system handover. Shandong Nuclear Power is based on transforming the advantages of Guohe series technology into investment returns, coordinating the installation, commissioning and other work, and making every effort to ensure the completion of the shield wall dome structure of Unit 4 by the end of the year, striving to achieve grid connected power generation of Unit 3 by the end of 2026. After the second phase of Shandong Haiyang Nuclear Power Project is fully put into operation by 2027, the annual power generation of the four units of Haiyang Nuclear Power can reach 40 billion kilowatt hours, which can meet the electricity needs of half of the residents in Shandong Province and help accelerate the construction of a green, low-carbon and high-quality development pilot zone in Shandong.

Facing the 27 first level milestone tasks of the Lianjiang Nuclear Power Project throughout the year, Zhanjiang Nuclear Power adheres to the concept of nuclear safety supremacy and accurately converts effective investment into physical engineering volume through lean investment management. Since the beginning of this year, the project has successfully achieved key milestones such as the topping out of the nuclear island reactor building and auxiliary building of Unit 1, laying a solid foundation for safety, quality, and environmental protection with a full process approach. While fully promoting the construction of the first phase of the project, we will continue to ensure the approval of the second phase and the development of the new factory site. During the 15th Five Year Plan period, after all six units planned and constructed for this project are completed, the annual power generation will be approximately 70 billion kilowatt hours. On the shore of Beibu Gulf, Unit 1 of the Bailong Nuclear Power Project in Guangxi is undergoing comprehensive construction, while Unit 2 is carrying out various tasks as planned to ensure the high-quality achievement of FCD goals for nuclear and conventional islands within the year, and to help Guangxi accelerate the construction of a national comprehensive energy security zone.

As a key project in Liaoning Province's 14th Five Year Plan for Energy Development, the main building structure of the Fuxin Power Generation 2 × 350000 kW cogeneration unit expansion project of Northeast Company has reached the top, and the No. 5 boiler plate beam has been in place. We are focusing on core nodes such as boiler water pressure testing and reverse power transmission to tackle them with all our might. After the project is put into operation, it can achieve an annual power generation of 2.3 billion kilowatt hours and a heating capacity of 7.57 million gigajoules, which is of positive significance for ensuring the safe and stable development of the power system. In addition, the Shanghai Electric Power Caojing Phase II project and the Jiangsu Company Binhai 2 × 1 million kW expansion project have entered the peak period of construction and operation. The Guizhou Jinyuan Jinsha Liutang 2 × 660000 kW coal-fired power project and the Tea Garden Phase II 1 × 660000 kW coal-fired power project are expected to achieve high standard construction in March and April. In the compact and dense construction nodes, the role of the group's clean and efficient coal-fired power supply ballast stone will be more prominent.

Nuclear power, coal-fired power, and collaborative efforts

At the site of the 1.2 million kilowatt wind power project in Mulei, Shanghai Electric Power, thousands of construction workers are sticking to the front line, fully preparing for the completion and full capacity grid connection. The project site manager Zhu Jiamin said that during the peak period of project construction, there were about 130 workers from the towns along the project line, which truly enabled the villagers to achieve employment and development at their doorstep. During the construction process, the project also rented construction machinery and vehicles locally to help related enterprises increase their income.

The resumption of work and production of the 1 million kilowatt wind storage project in Tacheng, Xinjiang Energy and Chemical Industry is steadily advancing. The 900000 kilowatt wind storage project in Hami, Xinjiang Energy and Chemical Industry, aims to be connected to the grid within the year. The second batch of 1.2 million kilowatt projects in Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia, is closely focused on the target of starting and putting into operation in the same year, accelerating progress. Since the beginning of this year, State Power Investment Corporation has steadily promoted a number of centralized wind power projects, fully leveraging their radiating and driving effects to effectively serve the stability of employment, enterprises, markets, and expectations.

The first national level photovoltaic and energy storage outdoor empirical experimental platform built by Yellow River Company - the National Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Empirical Experimental Platform, and the construction of the fourth phase 300000 kW photovoltaic project in Daqing Base is underway. After completing the resumption verification on March 2nd, the project has resumed work comprehensively and is efficiently advancing the construction of all 108 sub formations. After the project is put into operation, the expected annual power generation is about 510 million kilowatt hours, which can meet the daily electricity consumption of 280000 households for a whole year, achieving the synergistic improvement of empirical experimental benefits and livelihood benefits. In Shouguang, Shandong Province, after the Shandong Company's Lubei Salt Alkali Beach Tudi Scenery Storage and Transmission Integration Base W5 Plot Project was put into operation, the annual green power generation capacity was about 900 million kilowatt hours, and the carbon dioxide emission was about 750000 tons. During the construction process, more than 70 local workers were driven to find jobs. The management and construction personnel worked together to tackle the problem, and the practical work was used to write a vivid practice of benefiting the people and increasing green energy.

Multi point layout of wind and solar energy storage

Entering the Khorchin Grassland, the new factory building of Inner Mongolia Company's Tongliao Zhahanaoer 350000 ton green aluminum project is experiencing a scorching heat wave. Liu Yuxuan said that aluminum water has been discharged from the electrolytic cell here, and the installation team there is still carrying out the final commissioning, which makes both ends hot and does not delay a day. At present, the 264 electrolytic cells planned for the project are being put into operation in batches, and 50 of them have been successfully started and run stably, producing more than 200 tons of aluminum water per day. After the project is fully put into operation, the annual electricity consumption is about 4.65 billion kilowatt hours, of which green electricity accounts for as much as 80%. Coal fired aluminum is accelerating its transformation and upgrading to green electricity aluminum.
