5.6 billion Brazilian reals financing landed

3.2 billion Brazilian reals will be used for the northern axis project of the S ã o Paulo intercity railway. The project is developed by TIC Trens, a joint venture between Comporte Brazil and CRRC China. On February 29, 2024, the government of S ã o Paulo announced that CRRC consortium had won the bid for the North Axis PPP project of the intercity railway, undertaking project design, construction, maintenance and renovation, as well as the next 30 years of operation work.

The line connects the cities of Sao Paulo and Campinas, with a total length of 101 kilometers and a maximum operating speed of 140 kilometers per hour. After completion, it will become the fastest railway passenger line in Brazil. The project as a whole includes three parts: the franchise operation of Line 7 Ruby Line of CPTM Company in S ã o Paulo, the intercity passenger line from Juandiai to Campinas, and the fast passenger line from S ã o Paulo to Campinas.

The remaining 2.4 billion Brazilian reals of financing will be used for the expansion of the S ã o Paulo metro line. The investment plan has been approved in 2023, which includes purchasing 44 new trains from CRRC, with train speeds that will be better than existing operating models. The vehicle will be produced at CRRC Alaraquala factory and is expected to be delivered in 2027. The above projects are all included in Brazil's new growth acceleration plan.
