On May 26, 2026, the bidding announcement for the architectural design projects of six stations, including Fuding West Station and Zherong Station, was released for the newly built Wenzhou Fuzhou high-speed railway Fujian section, marking that the station building project of the Fujian section of the line is about to enter the stage of scheme design and preliminary design. According to the bidding announcement, the construction of the Fujian section of the Wenzhou Fuzhou high-speed railway has been officially approved by the National Development and Reform Commission. This project is constructed by Southeast Coastal Railway Fujian Co., Ltd., with China Railway Economic Planning and Research Institute Co., Ltd. serving as the bidding agency.

Project Overview

The newly built Wenzhou Fuzhou high-speed railway line starts from Leqing Station, passes through Wenzhou East Station, and ends at Fuzhou South Station, running through the cities of Ningde and Fuzhou in Fujian Province. The total length of the newly built main line of the project is 302.701 kilometers, of which the length of the Fujian section is 203.82 kilometers. Scope and content of bidding: This bidding covers the station buildings and supporting projects of 6 stations including Fuding West Station and Zherong Station, mainly carrying out the full process design work such as scheme design, preliminary design, and construction drawing design. The project is divided into 6 independent sections, with clear construction scales for each section.

(1) WFFJD01 section: Fuding West Station building, with a construction area of 6500 square meters;

(2) WFFJD02 section: Zherong Station building, with a construction area of 2500 square meters;

(3) WFFJD03 section: Fu'an South Station building, with a construction area of 6500 square meters;

(4) WFFJD04 section: Ningde Station building, with a construction area of 14000 square meters;

(5) WFFJD05 section: Luoyuan Station building, with a construction area of 1500 square meters;

(6) WFFJD06 section: Lianjiang Station building, with a construction area of 3500 square meters.

The final construction scale of the above station buildings shall be subject to the approval results of the subsequent preliminary design.

It is understood that the Wenzhou Fuzhou high-speed railway is a core component of the coastal high-speed railway channel in the eight vertical and eight horizontal main framework of the national high-speed railway network, and is also a key section of the Ningbo Guangzhou coastal high-speed railway channel. After the completion of the project, it will efficiently connect the two major economic circles of the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta, and achieve full connectivity of the coastal high-speed railway at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, which is of great strategic significance. The total investment approved for the feasibility study of this project is 89.7 billion yuan, and the construction of the entire line has officially started in September 2025. The total length of the main line is 302.7 kilometers, including 98.88 kilometers in Zhejiang and 203.82 kilometers in Fujian. A 33.2-kilometer Hangzhou Wenzhou high-speed railway connecting line will be constructed simultaneously, with a total of 12 stations along the entire line. In addition, a total of approximately 26 kilometers of supporting projects will be constructed simultaneously for the three major railway hubs in Wenzhou, Ningde, and Fuzhou.
