Recently, Jiangsu Guoxin Lianyungang Pumped Storage Power Generation Co., Ltd. has issued two important bidding notices, namely the construction bidding for the Lianyungang Pumped Storage Power Station reservoir project and the procurement bidding for the unit and its ancillary equipment. The first million kilowatt pumped storage power station in northern Jiangsu with a total investment of 8.66 billion yuan and an installed capacity of 1200MW has officially entered the key construction stage of dual track promotion of reservoir main construction and core equipment procurement.

Construction bidding for reservoir engineering

According to the bidding announcement, the construction of the reservoir project is scheduled to commence on August 1, 2026, with a total duration of 59 months, and is expected to be completed by June 30, 2031. The bidding content includes projects such as upper reservoir, lower reservoir, inlet and outlet, mechanical and electrical installation, on-site roads, site leveling, construction diversion, environmental protection, and soil and water conservation.

Procurement of core unit equipment

The bidding for the procurement of equipment for the units launched at the same time proposes to purchase 4 sets of single unit capacity 300MW single-stage vertical shaft mixed flow reversible water pump turbine generators with a rated head of 425m and a total installed capacity of 1200MW. The units are planned to be delivered gradually from the end of 2027 and put into operation one by one from 2030. The bidding scope covers water pump turbines, generator motors, variable frequency starting devices, voltage circuit equipment, status monitoring, relay protection, monitoring systems, and reservoir discharge equipment.
