Recently, a bid announcement was quietly released on the State Power Investment Corporation's e-commerce platform - the survey project for the first phase of the 600MW offshore wind power project at Shandong Peninsula South No. 5 has been officially awarded. The four key projects of Shandong offshore wind power, from Mouping in Yantai to Jimo in Qingdao, from Three Gorges Energy to Dongfang Electric, are simultaneously sprinting with a total investment of billions of yuan. A full industry chain picture from equipment manufacturing to deep sea grid connection is accelerating in the Yellow Sea and Bohai Sea areas.

Preliminary survey for the launch of Peninsula South 5
On April 14, 2026, the bidding candidates for the static exploration and drilling of the 600MW offshore wind power phase I project in the southern part of Shandong Peninsula were announced. The project is located in the southern sea area of Haiyang City, about 18 kilometers offshore, with a total installed capacity of 603.5MW. It is planned to install 71 8.5MW wind turbines and build a 220kV offshore boosting station. This survey and calibration marks the official entry of the project into the pre construction preparation stage, laying the geological data foundation for the subsequent commencement of the main project.

Mouping Phase II expansion is about to start construction
The second phase of the Three Gorges New Energy Yantai Muping BDB6 project has completed its environmental impact assessment and public announcement, with a planned installed capacity of 312MW and 26 12MW wind turbines, with a total investment of 3.394 billion yuan. The site is about 32 kilometers offshore and will rely on the newly built onshore centralized control center to add power distribution equipment, with a construction period of 12 months. The first phase of 300MW has been connected to the grid for power generation by the end of 2023, and after the completion of the second phase, it will further expand the wind power supply capacity in the Yantai region.

Dongfang Electric rushes to start production at the end of the month
The first phase of Dongfang Electric's offshore wind power industry base is striving to complete on April 30th in the Women's Island Green Energy Equipment Industrial Park in Jimo District, Qingdao. This project is a major project in Shandong Province in 2026, with a total investment of 2.8 billion yuan. After the completion of the first phase, it will produce 2 million kilowatts of offshore wind turbines annually, with an estimated annual output value of 8.4 billion yuan. It will fill the gap in high-end equipment manufacturing for offshore wind power in Qingdao. Keywords: New Energy News Network, Offshore Wind Power Installation

L site deepwater demonstration has been connected to the grid
On April 7, 2026, the Huaneng Shandong Peninsula North L offshore wind power project achieved full capacity grid connected power generation. The project is about 70 kilometers offshore with a water depth of 52 to 56 meters, making it the deepest commercial offshore wind power project in China. The total installed capacity is 504000 kilowatts, with 42 12MW units installed. The annual power generation is about 1.7 billion kilowatt hours, marking the official entry of Shandong offshore wind power into the stage of large-scale development in the deep sea.Editor/Gao Xue
