On April 28, 2026, China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) Guangzhou Shipyard International, in collaboration with China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), named and delivered the world's first 10000 vehicle dual fuel vehicle transport ship for South Korea's HMM Shipping in Nansha, Guangzhou. The maximum loading capacity of a single ship reached 10800 vehicles, breaking the global record for similar ship capacity and marking a new breakthrough in China's high-end shipbuilding capabilities, providing a "Chinese solution" for the global shipping industry's green and low-carbon transformation.

The transport ship was designed by the Shanghai Shipbuilding Research and Design Institute of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation. It has a total length of 230 meters, a width of 40 meters, a designed draft of 10.5 meters, a designed speed of 19 knots, and adopts an LNG/fuel dual fuel propulsion system. It meets the Tier III emission standards of the International Maritime Organization and has the characteristics of green environmental protection, energy conservation, high efficiency, safety and reliability. The ship is designed with 14 garage decks, which can flexibly load various types of vehicles such as electric vehicles, hydrogen energy vehicles, and heavy trucks. The maximum loading capacity of a single ship is 10800 vehicles, making it a true "sea giant".

The official delivery of the world's first 10000 vehicle class dual fuel vehicle transport ship marks that China has fully mastered the construction technology of this type of ship and maintained a global leading position in this niche market.
