5.06 million tons.
As of May 6, 2026, the cumulative import and export freight volume of Mandura Port has officially exceeded 5 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 121%, and completed more than half of the annual target 55 days ahead of schedule, setting a new historical high for the same period.

This set of data is more significant when placed in a larger coordinate system. In the whole year of 2025, the cargo throughput at Mandula Port is about 6.8 million tons, and this year it has completed most of the same period last year in just over four months. At this growth rate, there is almost no doubt that the annual output will exceed 8 million tons.
AGV unmanned driving enters the port
Behind the numbers is a quiet infrastructure revolution.
The daily clearance capacity of Mandula Port has been increased to 80000 tons, doubling from two years ago. Intelligent checkpoints replace manual verification, non-invasive inspection equipment reduces container inspection time to minutes, and AGV unmanned cross-border transport vehicles shuttle back and forth in the cargo yard - this highway connecting the China Mongolia Russia economic corridor is transforming from a traditional port to a smart port.

The structure of imported goods is also worth paying attention to. Coal, fluorite and other resource-based products account for over 70%, directly radiating to local key industries such as Baotou steel and rare earth deep processing. In other words, Mandura is not just a passage, but also a raw material artery for the industrial economy in central and western Inner Mongolia.
A port and a corridor
The outbreak in Mandura is not an isolated case.
Data shows that in the first quarter of 2026, the total import and export value of Inner Mongolia to Mongolia reached 18.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 34.6%. The total cargo volume of the three major ports of Mandula, Ceke, and Ganqimaodu increased by over 60% year-on-year. The three major channels of the China Mongolia Russia Economic Corridor, namely the East Line, Middle Line, and West Line, have simultaneously accelerated their speed. In the first quarter, the Manzhouli Railway Port saw over 1200 China Europe trains passing through, and the Erenhot Highway Port saw an average of over 800 vehicles passing through customs on a daily basis. Keywords: interconnectivity, import and export freight volume

Opening up to the north is shifting from a strategic vision to actual transportation volume. The 5 million tons in Mandura are just a section of the entire corridor accelerating.Editor/Cheng Liting
