The Singrobo hydropower project sent Neo Themis to the Eiffage Group after a comprehensive construction notice and began construction of the 44 MW Singrobo hydropower project. Neo Themis is a leading project developer and investor, focusing on incremental renewable power generation projects in sub-Saharan Africa.
Eiffage Group is a French civil engineering company. After completing the international bidding process, it won the contract for the construction of the Singrobo hydropower project worth US $ 195 million in 2018. According to the contract, the group will build a mixed rockfill and concrete dam with a height of 23.50 meters and a length of 1374 meters. Between the village of the Singrobo Bandama River and Ahouaty Abidjan and Yamoussoukro, a 105 million m³ reservoir will be formed Used in power plants that drive turbines.
In addition, for the Singrobo hydropower project power station, a flood discharge channel, a 90 kV switch station (a substation), a 3 km long line connecting the power station and the power grid, and access roads will be built.
The Singrobo plant is expected to be operational in 2023 and will supply electricity to the Côte d’ Ivoire national power company Cienergues under a 35-year power purchase agreement (PPA).
Expectations for the project
During the project's expected period of use, there will be a building with at least 500 people, and it will also provide 217 women and affordable electricity to the industry, businesses and local communities each year and reduce annual carbon emissions by 124,000 tons to operate in West African countries.
