On May 14, 2026, Ambassador to Guinea Sun Yong attended the Kaileta Suaapiti Hydropower Station Open Day event and the signing ceremony of the Future Engineer Training Program. Representatives from Chinese funded enterprises, government representatives such as the Presidential Energy Advisor and the Mayor of Kindia, as well as officials from four universities including the University of Conakry, attended the event.

Ambassador Sun congratulated the successful holding of this event and stated that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Africa. Both China and Guinea will take the China Africa Cultural Exchange Year as an opportunity to continue deepening mutual understanding, knowledge and closeness between the two peoples. This event injects new vitality into talent cultivation, fulfilling social responsibilities of Chinese enterprises, and promoting localized operations. We hope that school enterprise cooperation can become a bridge connecting China and Guinea. China will continue to promote exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in fields such as education, energy, science and technology, and humanities, in order to consolidate and strengthen the traditional friendship between China and Guinea.
