From May 18th to 20th, 2026, China Railway Fourth Survey and Design Institute and the Planning and Standards Institute of the National Railway Administration jointly organized a proposal evaluation and industry review meeting for the new Wenshan Jingxi Railway project. The attending experts conducted on-site inspections of key nodes such as Funing South Station and Yanshan Industrial Park, and formed systematic review opinions on core issues such as route direction and technical standards, laying a solid foundation for subsequent feasibility study approval and construction.

The total length is 282 kilometers, with a total investment of 33.6 billion yuan

The new main line of the project is about 282 kilometers long, including about 79 kilometers in Guangxi and about 203 kilometers in Yunnan. The total investment is about 33.6 billion yuan, including 23.4 billion yuan for the Yunnan section and 10.2 billion yuan for the Guangxi section. The construction period is 5 years. Planned as a Class I passenger and freight co line single track railway of China Railway, with a designed operating speed of 160 kilometers per hour. The entire line is planned to have 20 stations, including 5 intermediate stations, 1 section station, and 14 passing stations. Wen Jing Railway is a trunk railway project led by the country and co built by the province and the province.
