As of the first quarter of 2026, the cumulative installed capacity of new energy storage in China has exceeded 100GW, a year-on-year increase of over 40%. Inner Mongolia's new energy installed capacity has exceeded 120 million kilowatts, ranking first in the country. At the node of accelerating the scale of energy storage, Huawei Digital Energy and HYPER STRONG recently jointly released the 220kV Bohan Starlight Energy Storage Power Station, which is the largest single capacity intelligent string energy storage power station in China, and signed a strategic cooperation agreement at the same time.

The largest intelligent string power station in China
The power station has a capacity of 400MW/2400MWh and is invested and constructed by HYPER STRONG. It is equipped with Huawei's intelligent string type network PCS and Haibosichuang's 7MWh large capacity energy storage system, innovatively utilizing the construction of waste mines, and balancing ecological restoration and green development. The project was connected to the grid for trial operation at the end of December 2025 and has been running steadily since then: the daily discharge capacity exceeds 2 million kilowatt hours, the equipment online rate exceeds 99.5%, and the operating efficiency of the grid connection point exceeds 90%.
The power station adopts 1944 intelligent string inverters to achieve one cluster one management, with a measured cycle efficiency of 97.02%. The modular design ensures fast fault handling, and the adaptability and response speed of the weak current network are industry-leading.

Cracking the problem of new energy consumption in Baotou
As an important national wind and solar power base, Baotou has exceeded 50% of its new energy installed capacity, but it has long faced the dual pressure of wind and solar power abandonment and stable electricity consumption in heavy industry. The power station can consume about 1 billion kilowatt hours of new energy electricity annually, effectively breaking through transmission bottlenecks, and providing auxiliary services such as peak shaving, valley filling, and frequency regulation, building a stable power grid for local industries such as steel and equipment manufacturing.
Both parties will deepen cooperation in areas such as new energy storage, intelligent string based network construction technology, and computer collaboration, and accelerate the implementation of industry applications. The current new type of energy storage is moving from demonstration to scale, and the operation of Bohan Xingguang Power Station marks a new stage in China's large capacity energy storage technology.
