On May 28, 2026, the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement for the 2026 Lancang Mekong Cooperation Special Fund project was held in Naypyidaw. Ambassador Ma Jia and Myanmar Foreign Minister Ding Baorui delivered speeches and signed an agreement with Myanmar Deputy Foreign Minister Gogo Jue. Education, agriculture, animal husbandry and irrigation, natural resources and environmental protection, electricity and energy, industry and development of small and medium-sized enterprises in Myanmar, attended by Minister of Hotel, Tourism and Culture and Ambassador Shen Dan.

Ma Jia stated that the Lancang Mekong Cooperation has flourished in the past decade, carrying out a large number of "small but beautiful" projects, effectively improving the living conditions of the people, and further tightening the emotional bond among the people of the six Lancang Mekong countries. China will uphold the concept of friendly, sincere, mutually beneficial and inclusive diplomacy with neighboring countries, work together with Myanmar to deepen and implement the Lancang Mekong Cooperation, and help build a peaceful, peaceful, prosperous, beautiful and friendly Lancang Mekong homeland.

Ding Baorui thanked the Chinese side for its support and stated that the Lancang Mekong Cooperation Special Fund project has made important contributions to the economic and social development of the region.
