In early summer in Beijing, in the conference room outside the Diaoyutai Islands, Dai Houliang, Chairman of China National Petroleum Corporation, and Qian Chaoyang, newly appointed Chairman of Southern Power Grid Corporation, held hands tightly - this was a scene from the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement between China National Petroleum Corporation and Southern Power Grid on May 28th. The two leaders smiled at each other, with two super large state-owned enterprises standing behind them that are closely related to the national economy and people's livelihood: one is deeply involved in oil and gas exploration and development and the growing landscape of wind, solar and geothermal new energy, while the other oversees the power grids of five southern provinces and regions and leads the construction of new power systems. This handshake is regarded by the industry as a crucial step for the two major systems of oil and electricity to move from fighting independently to coordinating with the power grid.

Shared responsibility for national energy security mission
Qian Chaoyang expressed the hope that both sides will further deepen strategic cooperation, jointly create a multi energy complementary and source network coordinated energy supply ecology, an energy industry ecology led by innovation and integrated with science and industry, an energy service ecology integrated with intelligence and accessible to all, an industrial finance ecology rooted in industry and empowering entities, and promote high-quality development for both sides.
Anchoring Green Low Carbon and New Power Systems
According to the agreement direction, both parties will deeply integrate the centralized photovoltaic, decentralized wind power, geothermal and green hydrogen projects developed by PetroChina in oil and gas fields, refining bases and surrounding areas with the distribution network acceptance capacity and dispatch platform of Southern Power Grid - this is a typical scenario of source grid load storage integration in the construction of new power systems. PetroChina has already promoted large-scale photovoltaic grid connection and supporting energy storage in Changqing, Yumen, Tarim and other oil fields, while Southern Power Grid has mature experience in green power trading and microgrid regulation in the southern region. The combination of the two is expected to connect the last mile of green power generation and utilization.keywords:New energy information network

At the signing ceremony, Dai Houliang, Qian Chaoyang, Zhou Song, Chief Accountant and Party Member of China National Petroleum Corporation, and Li Rui, Deputy General Manager and Party Member of Southern Power Grid Corporation, witnessed the signing together. Zhang Daowei, Deputy General Manager and Party Member of China National Petroleum Corporation, and Liu Wei, Deputy General Manager and Party Member of Southern Power Grid Corporation, signed the agreement on behalf of both parties, and relevant department heads from both sides attended. In the future, with the implementation of the cooperation details, the two central enterprises will explore more possibilities in the interconnection of charging and swapping infrastructure, the construction of comprehensive energy service stations, carbon asset management, and international energy project collaboration, providing practical samples for building a clean, low-carbon, safe, and efficient modern energy system.Editor/Yang Meiling
