On June 2, 2026, a China Europe freight train loaded with 55 containers departed from the Erenhot railway port and headed towards Malaszewicz, Poland. This is the 2000th China Europe freight train to pass through the port this year. The annual traffic volume of the China Europe freight train has officially exceeded the 2000 train mark, significantly accelerating compared to the same period last year and setting a record for the fastest compliance in recent years.

As the core node of the China Europe freight train's central route, Erenhot serves as a key hub connecting North and East China with Mongolia and Europe, and its traffic efficiency directly affects the operational rhythm of the entire line. Since 2026, the port clearance process has been continuously optimized, and the on-time rate of trains has remained at a high level, providing strong support for the rapid increase in traffic volume.

Simultaneous growth in container volume and tonnage

As of June 1st, the Erenhot Port has transported a total of 193700 TEUs and 1.8266 million tons of goods, an increase of 10.94% and 27.46% year-on-year, respectively. It is worth noting that the tonnage growth rate is significantly higher than the container volume growth rate, indicating an increase in the average weight of single containers, an increase in the proportion of high value-added or bulk commodities, and a continuous improvement in channel transportation efficiency. From the perspective of goods categories, the proportion of high value-added goods such as automotive parts, electronic products, and mechanical equipment has increased, and the transportation volume of bulk commodities such as steel and wood has also maintained growth. 75 routes radiate across Asia and Europe

At present, there are 75 China Europe freight train routes operating through the Erenhot Port, connecting more than 70 hub stations in more than 10 countries such as Germany and Poland. The domestic radiation range covers most of the first cities of China Europe freight trains. This logistics network across Asia and Europe is an important practical carrier for the joint construction of the the Belt and Road, and continues to provide stable transportation guarantee for the economic and trade cooperation of countries along the line.
