The data center layout in Johor, Malaysia has added another important milestone. DDSP recently announced the completion of $283 million in green financing to establish a 45MW liquid cooled custom data center park in the Sednak Technology Park in Johor. It is worth noting that the entire data center has been fully signed by an unnamed global leading hyperscale client - the ground has not yet been broken, and the lease has been secured.

The liquid cooling park has not yet started construction and is fully leased

The project is located in Sednak Technology Park and adopts a fully liquid cooled cooling solution with a total installed capacity of 45MW. DDSP defines it as a customized park, tailored for a single ultra large scale customer. Although the client's identity has not been made public, the statement that all contracts have been signed means that the project has locked in tenants from the planning stage, and the commercial risk is extremely low. Liquid cooling technology is currently the high-efficiency route in the data center market, which can significantly reduce PUE values and is highly consistent with DDSP's consistent decarbonization positioning.

Green financing supports Asia Pacific ambitions

DDSP was founded in 2022 and has expanded its presence in five markets in the Asia Pacific region in just three years, with a total installed capacity of approximately 1.1 gigawatts. The $283 million financing is jointly led by China Trust Bank, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, and Standard Chartered Bank as the lead arranger, underwriter, and bookrunner, with Entie Commercial Bank as the lead arranger. DDSP CEO Frederic Devos stated that this transaction will solidify the company's expansion advantage in the Asia Pacific mega infrastructure sector.

As the demand for AI computing power continues to rise, liquid cooling, green electricity, and customized parks are becoming new competition thresholds for the data center track. The downfall of Johor State is not just a story of a 45MW single cabinet, but also a key move for DDSP to bet on the decarbonization of the entire Southeast Asian computing ecosystem.Editor/Cheng Liting
