Against the backdrop of continuous promotion of the dual carbon target, accelerated implementation of new infrastructure, and intensive construction of major national projects, the power industry is undergoing a profound transformation from "single performance competition" to "system capability competition". Especially in areas like Xizang where high altitude, large temperature difference and long-distance transportation scenarios coexist, the power system should not only be "usable", but also "durable, easy to use and well adapted". For this reason, the 2026 Xizang Nyingchi Engineering Construction Expo has become an important window to observe the green power development of the plateau.
From May 28 to 30, 2026, Xizang Linzhi Engineering Construction Expo will be held in Linzhi, the "Pearl of East Tibet". As an important communication platform in the field of engineering construction in high-altitude areas, this exhibition coincides with the critical juncture of the end of the 14th Five Year Plan and the launch of the 15th Five Year Plan. It also coincides with the acceleration of the Sichuan Tibet Railway and multiple major national projects, and the industry's demand for efficient, low-carbon, and reliable power solutions is particularly urgent. Around this trend, Weichai Power has made a concentrated appearance with a diversified power product matrix, sending a clear signal of upgrading from a single product supply to a scenario based overall solution.

New Energy Matrix Debuts with Diversified Power Coverage for All Scenario Needs
At the exhibition site, power batteries have become one of the focuses of attention. At this exhibition, Weichai showcased four products tailored to different application scenarios: the CT100A for construction machinery adopts a highly integrated modular design, balancing structural strength and energy density in a limited space; In the field of commercial vehicles, the CT100 can reach a maximum power of 400 kWh, the T100 can charge up to 100 kWh per pack and support 400A high current charging, and the EH165/ET200 can increase its power limit to 600 kWh, covering diverse needs such as urban distribution and long-distance trunk lines. The on-site technical engineer pointed out, "We are more concerned about whether the product can truly meet the working conditions, rather than just looking at the parameters
From an industry perspective, the electrification of construction machinery and commercial vehicles is entering deep waters. In the past, the focus of discussion was whether electrification was feasible; Now, the focus has shifted to which scenario is most suitable. The high-altitude construction environment is complex, energy supply is limited, and vehicle usage intensity is high, which puts higher demands on the stability, adaptability, and charging efficiency of battery systems. Weichai's modular design transforms product capabilities into scene adaptation capabilities, marking the transition of new energy power from standardized supply to customized response, meeting the actual operational needs of different working conditions.

Hydrogen energy breaks the deadlock, ushering in a new path for heavy-duty logistics
If power batteries provide an efficient electrification solution for high-altitude transportation, then hydrogen fuel cells have opened up a new green path for heavy-duty and long-range transportation. At this exhibition, Weichai showcased a 300kW fuel cell engine aimed at long-distance heavy-duty trucks and mainline logistics scenarios. With its advantages of only emitting water and a maximum efficiency of over 63%, it became the focus of attention on site.
The plateau region has always been the "touchstone" for the application of power technology. The thin air, complex working conditions, and long transportation distances pose higher requirements for the stability and sustained output capability of the power system. In response, Weichai hydrogen fuel cell R&D engineers stated that "combined with independently developed control strategies, this 300kW fuel cell engine can maintain stable and efficient output in high-altitude environments. ”This means that hydrogen power is accelerating from technical validation to practical application in scenarios such as material transportation during the construction of the Sichuan Tibet Railway and logistics on high-altitude main lines.
From the perspective of industry development, the value of hydrogen energy lies not only in achieving zero emissions, but also in providing differentiated solutions for heavy-duty transportation. While the pure electric route continues to expand its application boundaries, hydrogen fuel cells, with their advantages of fast energy replenishment and long endurance, are becoming an important supplement to the green transformation of heavy-duty logistics and providing more possibilities for building a diversified green transportation system in high-altitude areas.

From single point breakthrough to system layout, industrial competition moves towards deeper levels
At this exhibition, Weichai showcased a full range of products including diesel generator sets, new energy three electric systems, hydrogen fuel cells, and SOFC power generation systems, demonstrating that the company's competitiveness has shifted from single product performance to building a complete and flexible solution system around multiple energy routes and application scenarios. It is worth noting that its fuel cell product line has covered the full power range of 80kW to 300kW, and can be adapted to various scenarios such as urban sanitation, port traction, and high-altitude mainline logistics. This full power range+full scenario layout demonstrates that enterprises not only pursue technological breakthroughs, but also focus on market implementation and customer value.

From an industry perspective, green transformation has become a must-have for the power industry. The construction of high-altitude engineering, long-distance logistics, and the operation of heavy-duty vehicles are driving the evolution of power systems towards low carbonization, intelligence, and modularity. Weichai's concentrated appearance at the Linzhi Expo not only showcases its deep layout in the fields of new energy and hydrogen energy, but also reflects the new stage of major engineering construction on the plateau, which is moving from having no power to having better power.
With the implementation of more green power solutions, construction projects on the roof of the world are receiving more robust, stable, and clean underlying support.Editor/Yang Meiling
