Global capital and technology giants join forces to strengthen the underlying construction of artificial intelligence. Global renowned investment firm KKR, in collaboration with multiple heavyweight partners, has officially established a new digital infrastructure enterprise called Helix. With billions of dollars in long-term funding, it aims to directly address the pain points of AI infrastructure construction and reconstruct the global development pattern of computing infrastructure.

Billions of funds landed

On June 11, 2026, KKR, a leading global investment institution, officially announced the establishment of Helix Digital Infrastructure Company. The company's core business focuses on the development of artificial intelligence data center supporting infrastructure and special financing services. This project brings together top industry players from multiple parties, with joint initiators including the Kuwait Investment Authority, technology company Nvidia, and integrated power and energy company Vistra. The project has secured $10 billion in long-term anchored investment funds.

According to the official announcement, Helix focuses on a one-stop integrated service solution for large cloud operation enterprises, providing a complete set of infrastructure resources such as data centers, power supply, and network transmission required for the development of artificial intelligence. The division of labor for cooperation is clear and distinct. NVIDIA, as a core strategic partner, adapts to its own AI factory platform to carry out supporting infrastructure construction, while Vistra becomes Helix's exclusive power supply partner. The enterprise has a wide coverage of assets, including ultra large scale data centers, power generation facilities, transmission and distribution networks, and fiber optic communication networks. Meanwhile, Adam Selipsky, former CEO of Amazon Web Services, has been appointed as the CEO of Helix, overseeing the overall operations of the enterprise.

Integrate full chain resources

Helix CEO Adam Selipsky stated that large-scale digital infrastructure users are currently facing challenges such as complex systems and insufficient computing power capacity. Helix integrates long-term large capital and professional infrastructure operation capabilities, and can quickly implement integrated AI infrastructure solutions on a large scale. The deep empowerment of NVIDIA and Vistra can fully support the mid to long term artificial intelligence layout of leading cloud vendors.

He added that in the past, data centers, power, and network infrastructure were built independently in different sectors, with scattered and fragmented models, which have become the core bottleneck of industry development. The current situation of this industry has hindered the overall progress of various global market entities enjoying the benefits of artificial intelligence technology, and the industry urgently needs an integrated integration model to solve development difficulties.

The track has broad prospects

All parties involved in this cooperation have expressed positive expectations for the development prospects of Helix. The relevant person in charge of the Kuwait Investment Authority believes that AI infrastructure is a global long-term high-quality investment trend, and Helix's differentiated integrated operation model can match the large-scale landing needs of the next generation of digital infrastructure.

Huang Renxun, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, mentioned that the widespread adoption of practical artificial intelligence has driven the explosive demand for AI factories worldwide, giving rise to the largest infrastructure wave in history. The strong alliance between the two parties can help cloud service providers build the next generation of intelligent computing power base. Jim Burke, President and CEO of Vistra, pointed out that the long waiting period for power supply and grid access has always limited the speed of AI infrastructure implementation. The Helix integrated planning model can provide a one-stop solution to the implementation difficulties of high-energy computing projects. Keywords: AI, data center KKR

Public information shows that KKR's infrastructure platform manages assets worth over 100 billion US dollars and has invested over 70 billion US dollars in digital and power infrastructure. The current power supply, financing difficulties, and cross sector coordination are the three core bottlenecks restricting the development of global AI infrastructure. Helix accurately targets the pain points of the industry, coinciding with a critical window period for industry development, and is expected to lead a new model of global AI infrastructure construction.Editor/Gong Ziwei
