The plan will be launched in 2021, the land agreement will be signed in 2025, and the final commissioning phase - Oman Dukum Special Economic Zone will be entered in 2026. A green hydrogen and green ammonia project with a total investment of 4.2 billion dollars is accelerating to take shape. According to the latest disclosure from Oman's national news agency in June 2026, the second phase of the project is scheduled to be put into operation in 2030, and the third phase is expected to be put into operation in 2033. In this energy expedition, Chinese company Sunshine Hydrogen Energy has deeply participated and become a core equipment supplier.

The production capacity of the two phases is completely consistent

The production capacity planning for the second and third phases of the project is the same, with an annual output of approximately 71000 tons of green hydrogen and 400000 tons of green ammonia per phase. After full production, only the second and third phases of the project can contribute 142000 tons of green hydrogen and 800000 tons of green ammonia production capacity annually, covering a total area of 80 square kilometers, and will become one of the largest green hydrogen export bases in the Middle East region.

Chinese equipment deeply participates

As the core equipment supplier of the project, China Sunshine Hydrogen Energy provides a total installed capacity of 160 megawatts of alkaline electrolysis water hydrogen production equipment for the first phase of the project. The electrolytic cell is regarded as the heart of the green hydrogen industry chain, directly determining the efficiency and cost level of hydrogen production. This is an important demonstration project of Chinese electrolytic cell enterprises landing in the Gulf region. With the continuous expansion of the project scale, Sunshine Hydrogen Energy is expected to continue to participate in subsequent construction. Pre locking the product into the European market

The green ammonia products produced in the first phase of the project have signed a long-term underwriting agreement with Norwegian fertilizer giant Yaran Group, and the future products will mainly target the European and Asian markets. The first phase of the project is designed to produce 100000 tons of green ammonia annually, with plans to achieve commercial operation by 2026. Analysts believe that a new energy cooperation model combining Chinese equipment, Gulf resources, and the European market is taking shape.Editor/Gao Xue
