Kuwait Petroleum Company (KPC) opened the envelopes for 40 tenders in the capital city of Kuwait at once. This is not an ordinary procurement action - five of them are major tenders covering drilling, production pipelines, operations, and environmental services, and another professional medical equipment supply contract is also appearing simultaneously.

A detail at the bidding site revealed the heat of the bidding: six companies and nine supply groups competed fiercely for the supply of deep well drill pipes alone. The prices range from tens of thousands of Kuwaiti dinars to over 40 million dinars, which shows the fierce competition.

A bidding curtain covering the entire chain of oilfield services has been fully opened.

Deep well drill pipe bidding is heated up

The supply of deep well drilling rods is the first major project in this bidding, divided into multiple groups. The price range for the first group A section is 35.9 million to 42.4 million Kuwaiti dinars (approximately 117.3 million to 138.4 million US dollars), while the price range for the first group B section is 23.9 million to 28.3 million Kuwaiti dinars (approximately 78.1 million to 92.4 million US dollars). The six companies participating in the bidding include local and international enterprises such as Ahmed Al Fahad General Trade Contracting Company, Gulf International General Trade Contracting Company, Satco Energy General Trade Contracting Company, etc.

The competition is also fierce in the small and medium-sized groups, with prices ranging from 17.7 million to 39 million Kuwaiti dinars for Group A and Group B, and from tens of thousands to millions of dinars for Groups 3 to 9.

Six companies compete in the sand control project

Six companies submitted bids for the sand control project in western Kuwait. The lowest quote comes from Al Dali International General Trade Contracting Company, with a quote of 1.09 million Kuwaiti dinars; Al Jazeera Industrial Project General Trade Contracting Company followed closely with a quote of 1.56 million Kuwaiti dinars.

The remaining bidding prices range from 2 million to 3 million Kuwaiti dinars. All bidding documents have been submitted to the Senior Procurement Committee for review.

Simultaneous promotion of casing bidding and water separation services

The third bidding involves advanced production of casing and pipeline supply, divided into 15 groups, with five companies participating in the bidding, including Ahmed Al Fahad General Trade Contracting Company, Al Julaiah Trade Contracting Company, Burgan One Trade Company, etc. The lowest quote for some groups is about 42.45 million Kuwaiti dinars, while the quote for other groups exceeds 4.3 million Kuwaiti dinars.

At the same time, the bidding for water separation facility operation services attracted six international and regional companies, with quotes ranging from 2.24 million Kuwaiti dinars from Schlumberger to 5.9 million Kuwaiti dinars from other companies. The promotion of these bidding projects will not only provide support for Kuwait's oil and gas production capacity, but also create new interfaces for China's cooperation with countries along the the Belt and Road in energy equipment, engineering services and other fields.Editor/Gao Xue
