The "China Renewable Energy Development Report" released on June 12, 2026 shows that by 2025, China's new installed capacity of renewable energy will reach a new historical high, accounting for over 60% of the world's new installed capacity. It is expected that by 2026, China will add about 300 million kilowatts of wind and solar power installed capacity, and renewable energy will continue to be the main force in China's energy green and low-carbon transformation.
Data shows that by 2025, the installed capacity of renewable energy generation in China will exceed 2.337 billion kilowatts, with new renewable energy generation installations accounting for 82.7% of the country's new electricity installations. Distributed photovoltaic installations have exceeded 100 million kilowatts for two consecutive years, and the level of local consumption and utilization of new energy has further improved. By 2025, the annual renewable energy generation will be about 4 trillion kilowatt hours, and the wind and photovoltaic power generation will both reach the level of "trillion kilowatt hours", accounting for over 10% of the total national power generation.
In 2026, China's new energy industry will continue the core path of simultaneous development of land and sea, distribution, multi energy complementarity, and integrated development. The country will accelerate the construction of Shage Desert and new energy bases, coordinate ecological governance, and promote the standardized and orderly construction of offshore wind power. It is expected that by 2026, the total installed capacity of wind and solar power in China will increase by about 300 million kilowatts, and the newly added grid connected installed capacity of new energy storage will exceed 50 million kilowatts.
