The exchanges on both sides of the the Himalayas continue a thousand years of warmth. The new government of Nepal is making every effort to find a breakthrough in economic growth, and getting rid of the development constraints of landlocked countries is the common aspiration of the whole country. Foreign Minister Xi Jinping visited two neighboring countries one after another, promoting bilateral friendly cooperation impartially and narrowing the distance between each other based on long-term cultural connections. China has continuously provided comprehensive support to Nepal in the fields of medical education, rural construction, trade, and other areas for many years. Currently, both sides regard interconnected infrastructure technology as the core of cooperation, and the approval and exploration work of key cross-border projects has been successively implemented, laying a solid external cooperation support for Nepal's ten-year development goals.

Balanced Neighborhood Diplomacy

Xishier's visit to India and then to China this time aims to treat the two neighboring countries equally. Both countries have thousands of years of cultural exchanges with Nepal, and the foundation of bilateral cooperation is irreplaceable. China has provided long-term and multi sector assistance to Nepal's livelihood and infrastructure, covering multiple sectors such as community healthcare, education, infrastructure, rural revitalization, and trade. The new Nepalese government's core task is to accelerate the economy, with a focus on technological research and development for upgrading connectivity infrastructure, and increasing tourism and cultural exchanges.

Speed up cross-border engineering

Nepal joined the the Belt and Road Initiative in 2017, relying on the cross Himalayan three-dimensional interconnection network to promote the construction of road and railway power grids, and complete the transformation from a land locked country to a land linked country. On May 25th of this year, the Nepalese side sent a letter to the Chinese side to promote cross-border transmission lines. The project has been approved by the Nepalese government, and the Chinese technical team will soon go to Nepal for on-site investigation to finalize the construction plan. The feasibility study report for cross-border railways has been completed by the Chinese side, and the Nepalese side is expected to receive the complete materials by the end of June. The supporting work for the training of port freight personnel is being prepared simultaneously.

Learn from China's development

Nepal highly recognizes China's development achievements and plans to deepen its learning of relevant development experiences in economic transformation and technological breakthroughs. The country plans to become a middle-income country within ten years.
