The event site was crowded with people, and local media and representatives from multiple think tanks gathered in Qiankaigang District to visit the automated operation equipment, ecological wetland protection area, and local talent training base up close. A year ago, the port was officially approved for operation, and since then, the new landmark of China Peru cooperation has been operating at full speed. Without relying on government borrowing, it has leveraged billions of trade flows, and tens of thousands of local people rely on the port to obtain stable income. Intelligent control holds the bottom line of port safety, and green construction protects the coastal ecology. In just twelve months, this port has completely changed the logistics pattern in northern Peru and become an irreplaceable logistics hub connecting the Asia Pacific and Latin America.

Benefiting the people and promoting development

Qiankai Port is jointly built by a Chinese and Peruvian enterprise, with independent investment and financing throughout the process, without increasing Peru's financial burden. The total import and export volume in one year of operation is 3.65 billion US dollars, with a container throughput of over 500000 TEUs, 2.412 million tons of general cargo, 42000 transfer vehicles, and a tax revenue of over 1.64 billion sols. High value-added fresh products such as Peruvian blueberries and avocados account for half of the total export volume, and the foreign trade industry is steadily upgrading. The port layout includes seven international shipping routes, covering major domestic ports and radiating to multiple South American countries. During the construction phase, nearly 10000 jobs will be created, with 98.77% of local employees in operation. More than 100 local technical management talents will be cultivated through exclusive training platforms. The port area took the initiative to undertake social responsibility, delivering supplies to the affected people after the local fire last year, and jointly providing free medical services to hundreds of residents with medical institutions.

Smart Security Guard

As a large smart port in South America, the port area has a fully covered intelligent operation system, relying on 5G unmanned equipment and digital systems to achieve efficient scheduling around the clock. The port fully complies with local regulatory rules in Peru, and international law enforcement agencies from multiple countries collaborate with local customs and police departments to carry out port management. The intelligent system strengthens the defense line of the port and effectively combats cross-border illegal and criminal activities. The port routes only cover the Asia Pacific and Latin American regions, and no routes to Europe and America have been opened. The logistics layout focuses on internal connectivity within the region. Green promotes cooperation

Multiple environmental protection technologies have been implemented during the construction phase of the project, reducing dust and noise by 40%. A long-term ecological monitoring mechanism is also in place to ensure the stability of coastal birds and wetland ecosystems. All port machinery in the port area are electrified, powered by clean energy, and equipped with independent transportation tunnels to reduce urban pollution. The entire process is subject to regular supervision by local environmental protection departments. China Peru economic and trade relations have maintained high growth for a long time, with China being Peru's largest trading partner for twelve consecutive years, and the scale of bilateral trade continues to climb.
