Haif, headquartered in Saudi Arabia, has recently won two consecutive orders. The first order is to build a 132/33/13.8 kV substation for Saudi Energy Company in the Tabuk area, replacing the existing Tabuk 2 station. This is a complete project, including the construction of GIS, transformers, switchgear, capacitor banks, medium and low voltage cable systems, and protective facilities.
Ten companies will bid in December 2025, Al-Babtain、Alfanar、 Jihaz Holdings Danway、 Haf, Mohammed Al Ojami Group, Nesma, Saudi Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Tareg Al Jafari, and others are all listed. In the end, Hair emerged victorious.

The second one is in Haier, also a 132/33 kV substation, with the aim of connecting the power generation of Al Kahfa photovoltaic facilities to the grid. The two projects add up to approximately 90 million US dollars.
Tabuk is not the only battlefield
Saudi Energy Company's power grid upgrade plan goes far beyond Tabuk. There are power transmission projects underway in Zhufu, Medina, and Eastern Province. The Al Juf substation in Jubail province has been handed over to the local trade and development cooperation organization for construction. This 132/33 kV station will provide approximately 168 MVA of transmission capacity to the Al Buxita agricultural area, directly serving the liquid fuel substitution program, with the core goal of reducing dependence on diesel power generation. Last year, this project received nine bids.
The plate of 2.3 trillion riyals is still ahead
These substations are just appetizers. According to MEED Projects data, Saudi Energy Company currently has projects worth nearly 2.3 trillion riyals under evaluation for bidding, including 500 kV overhead transmission lines in the eastern and central operating areas, with a total length of approximately 466 kilometers. These major contracts are expected to be awarded gradually in the second half of 2026. Keywords: energy infrastructure, ultra-high voltage

Saudi Arabia is using real money to smash the power grid. From photovoltaic grid connection to fuel substitution, from old station replacement to ultra-high voltage line construction, the pace is fast. Haif won two orders this time, which can be considered as occupying a position in this round of infrastructure boom.Editor/Cheng Liting
