Baker Hughes has officially obtained a 13 year full lifecycle service contract from Nigeria LNG Limited to provide full chain operation and maintenance support for the core turbine machinery equipment of the Boni Island liquefaction plant. This order continues the deep cooperation between the two parties for 20 years, directly anchoring the long-term stable operation of the expansion project of Production Line 7.

After the project is fully put into operation, the annual LNG production capacity of the NLNG liquefaction plant will jump from 22 million tons to 30 million tons, further consolidating Nigeria's share in the global LNG market.

Localized operation and maintenance system directly implemented

The entire service plan does not rely on overseas remote teams, and all on-site related work will be completed through Baker Hughes' local service center located in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. This center has hired a large number of local technical talents and has established operation and maintenance capabilities covering all types of oil and gas equipment. Without the need to dispatch technical personnel from overseas, it can quickly respond to various equipment needs on site.

The service covers four heavy-duty gas turbines and corresponding centrifugal compressors for the 7th production line, as well as two gas turbines specifically used for power generation in the factory area. The entire process from daily inspections to fault repairs is included in the scope of the agreement.

Digital operation and maintenance reduces the risk of long-term downtime

This service system is also integrated with Baker Hughes' iCenter digital service platform, with Cordant technology as the underlying support, enabling remote real-time monitoring and early diagnosis of devices. Without waiting for obvious equipment malfunctions before entering the site for maintenance, the system can capture abnormal signals in the operating data in advance, eliminate potential faults in the bud stage, and greatly improve the annual availability of core equipment.

The management of Nigeria LNG Company has clearly stated that this combination of full lifecycle services and digital operations and maintenance can provide a foundation for the long-term stable operation of Production Line 7. After the expansion of production capacity, Nigeria can export more low-carbon natural gas resources to the global market, which not only consolidates the economic value of local energy exports, but also provides a practical and feasible support path for global energy transformation. Recently, Baker Hughes has landed large energy service orders in multiple regions around the world. In addition to the Nigeria LNG project, it has also reached a cooperation agreement with Petrobras to expand its comprehensive oil well construction business in Brazil's sub salt offshore oil and gas fields. The global energy technology service map is still expanding.Editor/Cheng Liting
