In the transverse tunnel of Xintiandong Tunnel, a second line of the Guizhou Guangxi Railway, dust and mist are pervasive, and the quality of spraying in traditional construction is judged solely by the hands of experienced craftsmen. Nowadays, an intelligent device equipped with a laser radar is quietly scanning the palm face, and real-time data is generated on the remote control screen to create color sectional images - where the spray is thin and where it is missed, at a glance. On July 7, 2026, the intelligent wet spraying machine independently developed by China Railway 11th Bureau and China Railway Construction Heavy Industry was officially put into use. This is the first time in the history of tunnel construction in China that digital intelligent control technology has been introduced into the support spraying process.

Millimeter level data replaces the manual dexterity of experienced craftsmen
In traditional wet spraying operations, the measurement of spraying thickness needs to be manually drilled and measured after the initial setting of the concrete, which is delayed and rough. The intelligent wet spray machine is equipped with an integrated real-time scanning and sensing module, which can achieve millimeter level accuracy and 24-hour continuous scanning even in extreme environments with high dust and high water mist. Every inch of spray thickness is visible in real time, completely abandoning the extensive mode of estimating based on experience and measuring with a tape measure.

The device is equipped with three guiding modes: design contour, measured thickening, and arch imitation, which generate real-time visualized chromatograms of cross-sections. The spray thickness and vacant areas are like a digital map spread out in front of us, and the operator can accurately lock every spray blind spot on the dusty palm surface. The intelligent wet spraying machine has the functions of full section intelligent evaluation and automatic analysis of flatness.
