Under the sunlight of the Andes Mountains, photovoltaic panels are like serene blue lakes, converting hot light into gurgling currents. When the handover certificate for the two-year operation and maintenance period is signed, this photovoltaic power station deeply cultivated by the Chinese team officially becomes a solid footnote to Colombia's energy transformation.

Strengthen the lifeline of the power station

Recently, the Palmyra III photovoltaic project in Colombia, undertaken by China Power Construction, has officially obtained the final handover certificate issued by the owner. The project has successfully completed the construction and two-year cycle operation and maintenance work, achieving a closed-loop delivery of the entire process of construction, operation, and handover. As the first high-quality photovoltaic power station built and successfully handed over by China Power Construction in Colombia, this project sets a new benchmark for Chinese enterprises to deeply cultivate the green energy market in Latin America.

Fine operation and maintenance, high standard operation

The Palmyra III photovoltaic project is constructed using a standardized EPC general contracting model, with an AC side installed capacity of 9.9 MW and a DC side installed capacity of 12.56 MW. The project was completed and put into operation on March 1, 2024, and began a two-year professional operation and maintenance work simultaneously. During the operation and maintenance period, the project team strictly benchmarks international industry standards, relies on mature technical solutions and refined management systems, and comprehensively strengthens equipment operation and maintenance, power generation efficiency, safety and quality control. The project has been running safely and smoothly for two consecutive years, and all operational indicators meet the contract standards. The equipment utilization rate and power generation efficiency have always maintained excellent levels.

The benefits of deep cultivation in the local area are highlighted

During the two-year operation and maintenance cycle, the project team deeply cultivated the local market, accumulated complete management experience adapted to the Colombian market, and formed a full chain operation mode covering design optimization, equipment debugging, efficiency improvement, intelligent operation and maintenance, safety control, local talent cultivation, and owner services. It successfully extended and upgraded overseas new energy projects from engineering construction to specialized operation and maintenance services. The project actively implements the concept of localized development, conducts on-site teaching and skill training in construction and commissioning, daily operation and maintenance, etc., cultivates a group of local technical talents who are familiar with local working conditions and proficient in photovoltaic operation and maintenance, and greatly improves the project's localization operation capability. As of now, the project has delivered approximately 40 million kilowatt hours of green electricity, which can meet the annual electricity needs of 20000 households in the area and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 20000 tons. The project takes into account multiple economic, ecological, and social benefits, effectively assisting Colombia in optimizing its energy structure, promoting green and low-carbon development, and contributing Chinese strength to the implementation of sustainable development goals in the local area.Editor/Gong Ziwei
