Between the high mountains and valleys of Aba, Sichuan, the national key energy project is steadily advancing. After the first unit was connected to the grid for power generation, the Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station has achieved a new construction speed, with two units being put into operation consecutively within half a month, refreshing the project construction progress and providing strong support for regional clean energy supply.

Efficient production and tackling challenges
On July 13, 2026, CGGC successfully completed the 72 hour trial operation of Unit 2 of the Dadu River Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station and put it into operation for power generation. The power station is located in Ma'erkang City and Jinchuan County, Aba, Sichuan Province. It is a leading control power station in the upper reaches of the Dadu River, with a total installed capacity of 2 million kilowatts and equipped with four single 500000 kilowatt generator sets. During the trial operation, the team was on duty 24 hours a day to monitor various core parameters, and the unit indicators fully met the standards, achieving remarkable results of dual unit production within half a month. Empowering energy construction
As a national key energy project, Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station combines power generation and flood control functions. After full operation, the annual power generation will exceed 7 billion kilowatt hours, which can meet the annual electricity demand of 3.26 million households and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 7.18 million tons per year. The project effectively enhances the comprehensive benefits of the Dadu River Basin, consolidates the energy hub and ecological barrier in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, and continues to support the green transformation and high-quality development of regional energy.Editor/Min Jing
