On August 9, 2026, according to Iranian sources, Mukhsin Rezai has joined the Supreme National Security Council of Iran and serves as the representative of Iran's Supreme Leader and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Mujtaba Khamenei, on the council.

Rezai was born in September 1954 in Khuzestan Province, southwestern Iran, and is currently 71 years old. He served as the Commander in Chief of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Iran from 1981 to 1997 for 16 years, and obtained a PhD in Economics from Tehran University in 2001. Reza has participated in Iran's presidential elections multiple times. From 2021 to 2023, he served as the Vice President in charge of economic affairs in Iran.
In March 2026, Mujtaba appointed Rezai as a military advisor. After the United States and Israel launched a joint military strike against Iran on February 28, 2026, Reza spoke out forcefully multiple times.Editor/Min Jing
