Relying on advanced domestic intelligent construction equipment, Xinjiang's transportation construction has achieved a new breakthrough. In the construction of the Kuiduku high-speed tunnel, CCCC First Highway Engineering Group has achieved full mechanization of the entire process for long tunnels for the first time, overcoming the difficulties of complex geological construction in high-altitude and cold regions, and accumulating valuable practical experience for the intelligent transformation of infrastructure in Xinjiang.

Overcoming Extreme Construction Difficulties
The Boluokezi Tunnel, which achieved a breakthrough this time, belongs to the 394 kilometer Kuiduku Expressway and is a key pilot project of the project. The total length of the tunnel is 6.67 kilometers. The geological conditions in the tunnel site area are complex, with multiple fault structures and harsh environments such as high cold winds, high altitude, and high seismic intensity. Traditional construction methods have high risks and slow progress. The project team innovatively applies domestically produced intelligent mechanized construction technology for 5+15 long tunnels, equipped with 5 intelligent steel structure processing production lines and 15 sets of specialized large-scale tunnel equipment.
This intelligent construction system comprehensively covers the entire construction chain, including steel bar processing, tunnel excavation, support lining, ventilation and drainage, monitoring and measurement. It effectively implements the concept of mechanized replacement and automation to reduce labor costs, significantly reduces the safety risks of high-risk operations, significantly improves the quality and efficiency of tunnel construction, and achieves a new breakthrough in the construction of long tunnels in Xinjiang.

Activate the driving force of transportation in Xinjiang
As an important interconnection strategic project in the core area of the the Belt and Road, Kuidoku Expressway has upgraded the tunnel construction technology to lay a solid foundation for the efficient promotion of the project. After the completion of the entire highway, the travel time from Kuitun to Kuche will be reduced from 14 hours to 4 hours, allowing for all-weather operation throughout the year.
