The first high-speed rail project in Australia has made significant progress, with the official confirmation of three international participating teams and the start of scheme competition, laying a solid foundation for local high-speed rail construction.

Determine the shortlist

The Australian High Speed Rail Authority is promoting the development of the Newcastle Sydney high-speed rail project and has selected three international consortia to participate in the early contractor participation process. Currently, there are no Chinese companies on the shortlist. The high-speed railway is designed to have a maximum speed of 320 kilometers per hour, and after opening, the travel time between the two places will be reduced to about 1 hour. The fastest round-trip travel time between the central coast is only 30 minutes. The project abandons the development of new technologies and adopts globally mature high-speed rail technology, while optimizing and adapting to local standards. The shortlisted entities include Alstom UGL consortium, ARC consortium, and Hitachi Railway STS Australia. The three parties will refine their plans around train design, system integration, and provide support for the Australian government's investment decisions. Deeply cultivate local construction

This bidding covers the entire chain of work including high-speed train supply, track system, control center construction, and equipment debugging. At present, the project is still in the development stage, and major construction contracts have not been finalized yet. Australia is synchronously promoting local supporting construction, planning to build advanced manufacturing factories, relying on automation and precision manufacturing technology to improve construction efficiency, fully driving local railway manufacturing enterprises and supply chains to participate in project construction, and promoting the upgrading of the local rail transit industry.Editor/Min Jing
