South Sinai Province on the coast of the Red Sea has undergone a brand new transformation, with new solar street lights quietly standing between roads and communities. With the successful delivery of the second batch of lighting equipment provided by China, this well-known tourist destination has fully embarked on a green and low-carbon transformation, lighting up the city's night with clean energy and benefiting local residents and remote communities.

Green energy supplies to assist Egypt are in place
The Egyptian Ministry of Local Development and Environment announced that South Sinai Province has officially received 826 Chinese solar street lights and 44 supporting air conditioning equipment. This batch of materials is an important part of China's aid plan to Egypt. The specifications of the street lamps delivered this time are unified, with a single lamp power of 40 watts and a lamp post height of 7 meters. The supporting components are complete and can be directly put into installation and use. This batch of equipment effectively improves the night lighting of local main roads, remote villages, and Bedouin communities, significantly reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions.

Thousands of streetlights rejuvenate Sham
This delivery is the second phase of the local green upgrade project. Previously, the first batch of nearly 1000 solar street lights had been put into use, and a total of nearly 2000 street lights covering Sharm el Sheikh and surrounding areas in the two phases. Relying on the Green Sham project, 50 public and private green projects have been implemented locally, with a solar installed capacity of over 4 megawatts and a cumulative reduction of over 85000 tons of greenhouse gases, successfully promoting the transformation of traditional tourist cities into green ecological new cities. Deeply cultivating the green energy market in Egypt
Although the scale of this foreign aid project is small, it has great demonstration value. The standardized equipment delivery and landing mode has built a stable overseas channel for China's green equipment. At present, Egypt is comprehensively promoting the transformation of green cities, and there is broad cooperation space in areas such as sustainable transportation and water resource protection, in addition to lighting equipment. The local authorities also plan to promote the successful experience of South Sinai Province to the whole country, bringing significant opportunities for Chinese energy-saving and photovoltaic enterprises to deeply cultivate the Egyptian market.Editor/Min Jing
