The state visit of the King of Jordan to China has come to a successful conclusion, and the two countries have reached multiple consensuses, issued a heavyweight joint statement, and comprehensively upgraded their bilateral strategic partnership.
From August 18 to 24, 2026, King Abdullah II of Jordan paid a state visit to China. The heads of state of China and Jordan held in-depth talks, and several Chinese leaders met with the Jordanian delegation. During the visit, both sides officially released a joint statement to deepen their strategic partnership, witnessed the signing of multiple cooperation documents, and laid a solid foundation for bilateral development.
Taking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2027 as an opportunity, both sides plan to expand cooperation in traditional fields such as economy and trade, energy, culture and tourism, explore emerging tracks such as digital economy, artificial intelligence, and green economy, and promote the opening of direct flights between the two countries as soon as possible. At the same time, we will strengthen cooperation in counter-terrorism, law enforcement, and judicial fields, and continue to deepen strategic docking in multilateral fields.
In terms of regional affairs, both sides unanimously support the two-state solution, adhere to the 1967 border consensus, help alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, maintain the safety of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, firmly uphold the international system with the United Nations at its core, and jointly safeguard peace and stability in the Middle East.Editor/Min Jing
