On August 23, 2026, a China Laos freight train loaded with Southeast Asian goods directly entered Guiyang International Land Port. This is the first return train in Guizhou to operate under the new mode of bonded logistics and railway express, marking a key leap in the clearance efficiency of cross-border channels in inland provinces.
The new clearance mode has been implemented and put into operation
This train carries 40 standard containers and a total of 1100 tons of imported potassium fertilizer. It departs from Vientiane South, Laos and takes only 5 days to travel directly to Guiyang. Relying on the new bonded logistics and railway express mode, trains do not need to stop at the port of entry, and can be directly transported to Guiyang International Land Port for unified customs clearance procedures, completely changing the old process of inland cross-border trains being stranded and waiting at the port.

This model fully activates the advantages of goods bonded and port functions in Guiyang Comprehensive Bonded Zone, directly breaking through the core bottleneck of slow transit ports that have long existed in inland cross-border logistics.
Channel operation is moving towards normalization
After the implementation of the new model, the clearance efficiency of cross-border logistics in Guizhou has been significantly improved, and the comprehensive cost of cross-border transportation has synchronously decreased, providing solid channel support for the local expansion of opening up to the outside world. According to the current operating pace, the next fully loaded return medium and old trains will arrive at Guiyang International Land Port in 3 days. The frequency of subsequent train shipments will steadily increase, and the overall operation of Guizhou medium and old trains is continuing to move towards normalization and scale. The logistics linkage efficiency between the southwest inland and Southeast Asia will be further released.

The innovative mode of the Guizhou China Laos freight train, which used to require waiting at the port for customs clearance and now takes 5 days to complete the full process of customs clearance directly to inland ports, is providing a replicable new sample for the western inland provinces to open up a southbound channel.Editor/Cheng Liting
