Dubai Al Maktoum International Airport is advancing a major supporting project, with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries leading a consortium to win the general contract to build a 50 kilometer automated passenger transportation system, breaking the global airport rapid transit scale record.

This APM system has 9 stations and is equipped with 165 automated vehicles. It is planned to be completed by December 2031, matching the pace of the airport's opening in 2032. After completion, the goal is to serve an annual passenger throughput of 260 million people, and the length of the route will be more than six times that of the world's longest airport APM Dallas Fort Worth Skylink.
