A steel dragon ran out of the yellow sand

This high-speed train, named Velaro, is specially designed for the desert. The Egyptian Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and Siemens executives witnessed its debut. It can reach a top speed of 250 kilometers per hour and can carry 489 passengers at a time. Dust and high temperatures are the fiercest opponents of trains. With decades of global operational experience and advanced Altair tools, the designer repeatedly polished the digital model, equipped it with a powerful filtering system and optimized cooling device, allowing it to remain stable in extreme weather conditions and keep the carriage cool. This Velaro has a total of 41 columns and will appear together with the entire high-speed network.

The Green Line connects Cairo with the sea

At the test run site in western Cairo, the Desiro regional train showed its true appearance for the first time. It will be deployed on the Green Line - a 660 kilometer long line connecting Cairo with Ain Sohna, Alexandria, and Masamatruh, known as the Suez Canal on the railway tracks. This high-capacity train has a total of 94 trains, each of which can accommodate 849 passengers. It is equipped with air conditioning and ETCS level 2 train protection system, and wheelchair access is also smooth. Fifteen years of maintenance to protect the aviation iron dragon

The entire network consists of three main corridors, running north-south and east-west, connecting more than 60 cities. In addition to delivering 41 Velaro and 94 Desiro trains, Siemens also provided 41 Vectron freight locomotives and promised to provide maintenance services for this batch of equipment for up to 15 years, ensuring the long-term stable operation of the railway system. The project is jointly constructed by Siemens, Arab Contractors Group, and Orascon Construction Company. After completion, it will be the sixth largest high-speed railway network in the world and the first truly high-speed railway network on the African continent.
