On September 29, 2026, at the chemical park site in Kaiyuan, southern Yunnan, the first photovoltaic pile foundation construction equipment slowly started, and the Yunnan Energy Group's integrated project of source, grid, load and storage officially began construction. As the first pilot project in Yunnan Province to complete the full process of grid connection approval, verification, and commencement, the green energy transformation of the old industrial base in southern Yunnan has taken a crucial step forward.

Multi energy complementary closed-loop coverage covering the entire scene
The total investment of the project is 1.165 billion yuan, which is divided into four core sectors as a whole. On the power side, 130000 kilowatts of centralized photovoltaics, 30000 kilowatts of distributed photovoltaics, and 40000 kilowatts of wind power will be constructed. On the microgrid side, a new intelligent distribution network with voltage levels of 220 kilovolts and below will be built. On the energy storage side, 50 megawatts/100 megawatt hours of electrochemical energy storage will be provided. On the load side, it will be directly connected to Yunnan Jiehua's annual production of 500000 tons of synthetic ammonia transformation and upgrading project.
The latest project entry data in September shows that 70% of the land clearing work for the first batch of photovoltaic sites has been completed, the preliminary survey work for wind turbine positions has been synchronously completed, and the roof surveying work for distributed photovoltaics in the park has been fully completed. After all projects are put into operation, the comprehensive utilization rate of new energy will stabilize at over 90%, achieving on-site production and consumption of green electricity, and significantly reducing the electricity costs of chemical enterprises in the park.
Demonstration of upgrading the energy system in the park
After the completion of the project, it will form an integrated operation pattern of new energy, intelligent microgrid processing industry load and new energy storage in the park, achieving coordinated regulation and multi energy complementarity between the main grid and microgrid. Relying on this system, the park can effectively smooth out fluctuations in new energy output, ensure stable power supply for high continuity industrial loads such as chemical engineering, and significantly reduce carbon emissions in the production process. As one of the first three pilot projects for integrated power source, grid, load, and storage in Yunnan Province, the project will provide stable green power support for the 100 billion level green chemical industry cluster in Honghe Prefecture. Yunnan Energy Group is transforming from a traditional energy supplier to a comprehensive energy service provider through the path of greening, integration, marketization, and digitization. This project will also become a typical example of the construction of a new power system in the province, providing replicable practical experience for regional industrial green transformation.Editor/Cheng Liting
